He said; “The Cross River State Governor Ben Ayade has approved the following appointment with immediate effect.”

The beneficiaries of the new appointments are drawn from the three senatorial districts of the state.

In a swift reaction to the development, a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr John Edem, a known critic of the administration of Ayade, said appointing so many people into a government which regularly say that the resources are lean showed that it had nothing to offer the people.
Edem said the resources should have been used to clean the streets of Calabar, the state capital, pay retirees and cover workers’ promotion.
