The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed that Pelumi’s corpse was found in a hotel room with a suicide note and a bottle of Sniper chemical.

The suspect, an officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service, killed his friend, Ayobami, on Tuesday between the hours of 8:30 pm  and went away with his body.

The family is urging the federal and Kogi State governments, as well as the Inspector General of Police to help unravel the circumstances behind Ayobami’s killing and ensure that justice is served.

The family is also demanding the timely recovery of Ayobami’s body.

They described Ayobami as a kind, loving, and caring person who never quarreled with anyone.

The deceased’s father, Chief James Aiyepeku on Thursday in Lokoja appealed to the Kogi State government and security agencies to help recover his son’s body and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and recovered a Hilux vehicle and a deep freezer used by the suspect.

However, the family is still waiting for Ayobami’s body to be found and is demanding answers about the circumstances surrounding his death.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for investigation, and the police are seeking the collaboration of the deceased’s family, colleagues and the public for credible information to aid in the investigation.
