Nigerian superstar, Ayra Starr, has hit a remarkable milestone, surpassing two billion streams on Spotify since her debut in 2019.
According to data from Kworb, as of October 10, 2024, the Grammy-nominated artiste has achieved this feat just months after releasing her second album, The Year I Turned 21, which itself has already exceeded 500 million streams.
Among her notable tracks, Starr’s collaboration on Rvssian’s ‘Santa’ boasts over 455 million streams, while her hit single ‘Rush’ has garnered more than 409 million.
Additionally, her feature on Libianca’s ‘People’ has reached 106 million streams, and ‘Bloody Samaritan’ totals 82 million.
Ayra Starr joins an elite group of Nigerian artists, including Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Davido, who have also surpassed 2 billion Spotify streams across all credits.
This year has been particularly successful for her, with four nominations at the 2024 MTV EMAs, including Best New Artist and Best African Act.
With plans for a deluxe version of her acclaimed sophomore album, Ayra Starr continues to solidify her status as one of Nigeria’s leading musical exports.
