The new captain of the IBB International Golf and Country Club, Ibrahim A Babayo, has vowed to improve the club’s fortune, saying his tenure will witness tremendous growth in golfing activities in the club.
Babayo made the promise when he received the executive members of Bar and Bench Golf Association led by it’s chairman, Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi.

He said his administration will be organizing golf tournaments every month to keep both the Amateurs and the Pros members of the club fit at all times.

Babayo, the immediate past vice captain of the club, was elected new captain unopposed during the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the club held recently at the Club House in Aso Drive, Abuja.
He said his immediate plan is to embark on radical improvement both at the club house and on the course.

“We will be committed to ensuring proper hygiene within and around the club premises. We will also enforce a zero-tolerance policy towards plastic waste, affirming our dedication to environmental stewardship. Henceforth, all members are our environmental police to ensure strict compliance with waste disposal at designated spaces, while on the course, club house or club premises.

“Furthermore, we recognize the need to diversify our revenue streams beyond membership fees to enhance the quality of our infrastructure, facilities and services. Hence, we will explore avenues for strategic partnerships with both the public and private sectors, leveraging on our existing relationships to attract corporate sponsors and sponsorship,” Babayo said.
