Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has urged the new president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Alhasaan Yahaya to use his tenure to propel true professionalism.
While congratulating the new national executive members of the union led by Yahaya, the governor in a statement signed by his chief press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, applauded the seamless process that brought the new officers to power.
He, however, said they should propel true professionalism among practitioners and uphold national values.
The governor also congratulated the Niger State Council of the NUJ for producing a national officer after a long time.
He reiterated the commitment of his administration to a free press while ensuring a cordial relationship that would engender peace and development as well as the realisation of the New Niger Development agenda.
He also congratulated the first female deputy national president, Abimbola Oyetunde from the Edo State council, Adeiza Momoh Jimoh as the vice president North Central (Zone D), and Dauda Mohammed of NTA Minna as the secretary North Central (Zone D).
