Armed bandits have launched a fresh attack on Yan Kwada Village in the Farun Ruwa community of Shanono local government area of Kano State, abducting five women.
Residents revealed that the assailants stormed the area on Sunday evening, firing indiscriminately and breaking into several homes before taking the women away.
“I only got the news that five women were taken, some of them nursing mothers in Farun Ruwa community not too far from our community this morning.
“Bandits have been attacking parts of Shanono nowadays especially the border communities. A lot of people are planning to flee out of fear,” a resident of Shanono, Ammar Wakili, told our correspondent.
LEADERSHIP reports the incident occurred barely a week after a joint security operation reportedly clashed with armed groups in the same community, resulting in the death of several suspected bandits.
