Armed bandits late Thursday attacked Oniko community in Moro local government area of Kwara State, killing an elderly woman and abducting four residents.

Though Oniko is situated in Moro local government area in Kwara North, it is an Ilorin Emirate  community as Moro is one of the five local government areas that make up the emirate.

Those people abducted at the agrarian community populated by rich farmers  include a nursing mother and her seven-months-old baby.

Sources told our correspondent that the gunmen stormed the community near the popular Olowu town which hosts a large market at about 7pm.

“The gunmen stormed our community at about 7pm and headed to a building where they abducted five persons, including an aged woman, a nursing mother and her baby. It was like a targeted operation.
