Bandits Kidnap 53, Kill 3 Escorting Bride In Katsina

Gunmen attacked and abducted over 30 travelers accompanying a bride home at Damari community of Sabuwa local government area of Katsina State late Thursday.

A credible source in the area said the bandits targeted the guests who were crowded in an open van, commonly known as canter vehicle, while on transit around 9pm on Thursday.
He stated that three local security volunteers were also killed when they attempted to repel the attack to free the victims, adding that some of the abducted victims managed to escape by jumping from the moving van.

At the time of filing this report, the exact number of persons who escaped from the hoodlums remained uncertain amid tension in the area. The police were yet to make an official statement on the attack.
