A source, Bala Tudun Doki, told Journalists that armed men stormed the community around 11:30 pm on Saturday, shooting sporadically.

“The shooting sent fears among residents of Asara Kudu, Asara Arewa, Chimola Arewa, Chiomola Kudu, Gidan Kaya, Gigane, Salame and Mammande villages.

“By the time the dust settled, five people were killed. We are yet to ascertained the number of people abducted. This is because some people ran into the bush and nearby villages for safety.

“Until we see those who would return, I cannot tell you the number of people abducted,” Tudun Doki stated in a telephone conversation with newsmen.
