Bandits Kill 9, Abduct 50 In Katsina

Not fewer than nine persons have been killed, houses burnt, nine cars razed, while fifty persons were abducted when gunmen launched a devastating attack on Maidabino village in Danmusa local government area of Katsina State.

The attack which occurred Saturday night around 7pm and lasted until 2:30 am resulted in razing a pharmaceutical store and over 15 shops in the village.

 

Member representing Dan Musa local government area in the Katsina State House of Assembly, Aminu Sai Baba who confirmed the incident said a call was sent to the government following the attack, to take immediate action.

Sai Baba added that the government has responded to their call as security personnel have been deployed to the area to restore peace.

 

Spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, Abubakar Sadiq also confirmed the incident, saying investigation is currently ongoing while assuring to communicate any further developments.

 

The attack is the latest in a series of such in the Dan Musa area, which has been experiencing incessant gunmen attacks.

 

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu is scheduled to hold a security meeting with governors from the North-West region and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Katsina to address the security challenges in the region.
