Announcing the abduction and killing, the Kanam Development Association (KADA), via a statement on Monday by its Chairman and Secretary, Shehu Kanam and Barr. Garba Aliyu, expressed grief over the killing.

KADA said the ward head was abducted about six days ago and brutally killed by the bandits while his corpse was recovered in Wanka Forest.

The association described the incident as a stark reminder of the persistent insecurity and banditry attacks plaguing their communities.

They lamented that despite repeated pleas, government at all levels have failed to take decisive action to address the persistent abduction and killings of innocent citizens.

“The people of Garga and its surrounding areas are living in constant fear, and it is imperative that our political leaders take immediate and concrete steps to ensure their safety,” they said.

KADA further called on Governor Caleb Mutfwang to urgently declare a state of emergency in the Community and deploy adequate security personnel to tackle the banditry menace.

The association also accused the federal and state lawmakers in the community for not doing enough to nip the persistent attacks, abductions and killings of law abiding citizens in the area in the bud.

They noted that the people have exhausted their patience, warning that silence and inaction of political leaders in the face of these atrocities will no longer be tolerated while demanding for justice protection for the people of Garga community.

“Government must act now to restore peace and stability to our community. We stand in solidarity with the family of the deceased and the entire community. We will continue to advocate for their rights and safety,” the statement stated.
