The executive director of Lagos Business, Wema Bank Plc, Mr Oluwole Ajimisinmi, has restated the bank’s commitment to the empowerment of the next generation of Nigerian leaders.
Ajimsinmi stated this at the 15th edition of the annual Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange (WSICE) in a statement issued after a series of spectacular events held in Nigeria and London, celebrating the 90th birthday of the esteemed Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.
He reminisced that the month-long festivities, which commenced in early July, culminated in a grand finale,’ A Creative Evening with Wole Soyinka,’ hosted by the British Deputy High Commission Lagos.
“The evening’s programme commenced with vibrant drum beats, live painting, and dance performances. Attendees were treated to a Fireside Chat with Professor Wole Soyinka, followed by the Africa Drum and Fashion session and the opening of the ‘African I.D.E.N.T.I.T.Y – Nine Seasons of Wole Soyinka Exhibition’.
“The event’s highlight was the award presentation to Vision of the Child and Solution17 Community champions Princess Marinay, Valentine Udemadu, Haoma Worgwu, and a child poet, Mofinfunoluwa Atilola, a top-ranked Nigerian female tennis player.
