Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) president, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji has hailed Bauchi State governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, for proving his critics wrong through impactful governance that has positively turned around the fortunes of the state.
The Baptists president told journalists yesterday during the 2025 International Workers Conference held at the First Baptist Church, “I have noticed a lot of difference in Bauchi State.”
He admitted, “When you enter the streets in Bauchi, you see positive things about the city, you discover that it is good looking and beautiful. The state capital is very clean and attractive.”
“That is what you expect to see in the state capital, a capital with good looking streets. Well-structured layout without potholes within the city to be obstructing movement. I saw that the traffic in the city was free and flowing without hindrance,” he further narrated.
Israel Adelani Akanji also said that the beauty of the town has over time greatly improved, adding that “Such are some of the things that bring out the beauty of our cities. It’s just like most of these structures one can see in some of the cities elsewhere.
“What I was saying, probably they started doing something, working on the beautification and other people fell in line. But going again, close to the Government House and Governor’s Office, what I have seen there is comparable with some of the structures we have in the Villa in Abuja,” he added.
Rev. Adelani Akanji explained that he was not surprised with what the hitherto FCT Minister was doing in Bauchi State, stressing “Our own Senator Bala Muhammad, was the FCT Minister, if you can handle FCT, you have the capacity to handle Nigeria. It is FCT that has all kinds of people in it, behind, the middle below. FCT has enough, the East, North, the South and West.
