Barcelona coach Hansi Flick acknowledged on Monday that he needs to change his behaviour after being sent off for making an obscene gesture during a match against Girona.
Flick received a yellow card for protesting a refereeing decision and a second yellow for celebrating Ronald Araujo’s late winner with a raised finger. This red card will prevent him from coaching from the sidelines during Barcelona’s LaLiga Clasico against Real Madrid.
Reflecting on his conduct, Flick stated, “I do not want my grandchildren to see me behave that way. I need to change.”
He noted that since joining Barcelona, his emotional responses have evolved, recalling his time at Bayern Munich when he maintained a more reserved demeanor. “I truly love this club and want to present my best self,” he added.
