Barcelona sent a congratulatory message to LaLiga rivals Real Madrid after they overcame Borussia Dortmund in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League.
Madrid landed a record-extending 15th title thanks to a 2-0 win against the Bundesliga giants.
Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Junior were the heroes for Carlo Ancelotti’s men as their second half goals secured the hard-fought win.
Carvajal broke the deadlock on 74 minutes off a corner kick from Toni Kroos before Vinicius added the second goal with less than 10 minutes left.
After the game, Barcelona took to their X handle to congratulate Madrid.
“Congratulations to Real Madrid for winning the Champions League title.” the Catalan club wrote.
The last time Barcelona were crowned European champions was in 2015 when they defeated Juventus 3-1.
Since then, it’s been nine years that they emerged European champions.
