Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey, has declared the Super Eagles’ readiness for battle against the Panthers of Gabon.
Fueled by a resurgent spirit, the Super Eagles are poised for their high-stakes semi-final clash against the Panthers of Gabon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs on Thursday in Rabat, Morocco.
After shaking off a sluggish start to their qualifying campaign, the Nigerian squad has solidified into a determined unit, ready to tackle their West African rivals.
The match, scheduled for 5pm Nigerian time kickoff, represents a critical step on the path to the World Cup.
According to Bassey, the team’s confident mindset emphasises their journey from early doubts to their current position of strength.
“We began slowly, but hope has been truly restored,” Bassey stated in an interview with Sporty TV. “Now it’s about maintaining this momentum, taking each game as it comes.
“We are Nigeria—a massive football nation. We feel the weight of expectation and embrace the responsibility that comes with it,” he noted.
With the stage set in Morocco, the Super Eagles are prepared to channel that belief into a performance worthy of their soaring ambitions.
