In a significant boost for education, the Bauchi State Government has disbursed a whopping N945,928,000 to fund scholarships for 22,423 indigent native students across various tertiary institutions.
LEADERSHIP reports that the payment, which marks a 100 percent upward review of scholarship allocations, was approved during the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
Commissioner for Higher Education and Regional Integration Lydia Tsammani said this reflects the administration’s commitment to alleviating financial burdens on students.
“This initiative reaffirms our dedication to ensuring that no student is denied education due to financial constraints,” Tsammani said.
She added that the scholarship fund is expected to significantly ease the struggles of underprivileged students while reinforcing the state’s efforts to promote access to quality education.
