In addition, during the plenary sitting, the House of Assembly appreciated the Joint Action Committee of State-owned Tertiary institutions for listing its call and suspending its strike action.

The House described the gesture as goodwill and trust in its commitment to addressing their demands.

The Speaker of the House, Abubakar Y Sulaiman, made the commendation after receiving the House Committee on Education report regarding the recent education stakeholders dialogue meeting on the strike action embarked upon by JAC in the state.

The committee‘s report recommended that the state government implement the agreements reached during the meeting, particularly revising the COMPASS and CONTEDIS salary structure and forming a monitoring body consisting of representatives from JAC, government, and Institution heads to ensure compliance with the agreement.

Others prioritise the education sector by ensuring it receives adequate funding and staff to avoid industrial action in the state.
