Residents of Narabi, a community in the Toro local government of Bauchi State, have commended Ibrahim Ali’s humanitarian and philanthropic initiatives, including constructing a hospital and borehole facilities to improve the community’s healthcare and wellbeing.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the Narabi community, which boosted over 500,000 residents, previously relied on a dispensary for medical care service. Pregnant women travel to neighbouring Toro or Jos to access antenatal care.
Similarly, Ibrahim Ali executed numerous humanitarian initiatives by establishing and funding a foundation, the Ibrahim Ali Usman Foundation.
Speaking to our correspondent yesterday, Muhammad Abdullahi, the ward head of Narabi, noted that the local dispensary could not meet the community’s healthcare needs.
He said Mr Ali, a retired naval officer from Narabi, single-handedly procured land and constructed the hospital when the equipment was installed to provide quality and affordable healthcare services to the people.
Abdullahi said all malfunctioning motorised boreholes in the community were repaired to give residents access to clean, potable water for consumption and other domestic purposes.
“Ibrahim Ali constructed new boreholes in the community as well. The Narabi community has never seen this monumental support from philanthropists or foundations as it did through one of our sons.
“Water scarcity is no longer an issue for residents of Narabi. Walk through the community, and you will see that all borehole facilities are now functional.
“Through his foundation, Ibrahim Ali Usman Foundation, several youths from this community were secured job placements,” the ward head said.
