The executive chairman of Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri, has dissolved all supervisors of the Bauchi Local Government Education Authority and asked them to resume teaching immediately.
Duguri gave the directive while addressing newsmen shortly after an unscheduled monitoring of third term resumption at some selected schools outside Bauchi Metropolis.
The chairman said the action followed the gross misconduct of the affected supervisors, whom he described as unpatriotic and sabotaging the reform process in the state’s education system.
Duguri, however, directed the demotion, suspension, and querying of staff and teachers who were found guilty and the promotion of the deserving ones.
He said governments have been striving hard to provide a conducive learning environment and improve the livelihood of teachers and assured that henceforth all the stipulated rules have to be taken on any staff caught in transgression.
Responding on the development, the education secretary of Bauchi Local Government Education Authority, Hajiya Talatu Yakubu expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the monitoring exercise in Bauchi Metropolis where classes have commenced properly with large number of students and teachers unlike outside the Bauchi Metropolis that the teachers were not in school, which discouraged the students from resumption.
The education secretary reaffirmed the state government’s plan to stop the salaries of teachers who abscond from schools without any genuine written reason and promised to reward dedicated staff.
Yakubu commended Governor Bala Mohammed and the executive chairman of SUBEB Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Duguri for their passion in education and the overall development of the state.
