The wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Aisha Bala Mohammed, has organised a New Year Children’s Party to thank Allah for the successful transition into the new year and to pray for the continued wellbeing and development of children in Bauchi State.

Speaking at the 2026 New Year Children’s Party, held at the Dr. Sulaiman Adamu Stadium, Government House, Bauchi yesterday, Aisha said the annual event was organised to mark the New Year and Christmas celebrations, as well as to express gratitude to Almighty Allah for His mercy and the gift of life.

According to her, the celebration also serves as a platform to bring joy to children and remind them that they are cherished, valued, and central to the future of Bauchi State.

“It is with great joy and a deep sense of gratitude that I warmly welcome you all to this year’s New Year Children’s Party. I am delighted to celebrate the beginning of the year 2026 with our wonderful children, parents, guardians, and invited guests,” she said.

Dr. Aisha commended her husband, Governor Bala Mohammed, for his unwavering support and commitment to policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare, education, and wellbeing of women and children across the state.

She reaffirmed the commitment of the Office of the First Lady to initiatives that promote the protection and welfare of vulnerable women and children.

“We remain dedicated to creating opportunities that will enable our children to grow in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment,” she assured.

She wished the children a joyful celebration and a bright future, while praying for journey mercies for all participants and a peaceful and prosperous New Year 2026.

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Dr. Lydia Haruna Tsanmani, commended the First Lady for her commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of women and children in the state.

Represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Sale Mamman, the Commissioner assured that the ministry would continue to collaborate with the Office of the First Lady to implement programmes and initiatives that positively impact the lives of women and children across Bauchi State.

Highlights of the event included special prayers offered by Muslim and Christian clerics, aimed at guiding children on the path of moral uprightness. Other activities featured dance, and quiz competitions, as well as a debate on the importance of education.

During the debate, Khadija Adamu argued in support of girls’ education, while Abubakar Muhammad Munkaila presented arguments advocating for boys’ education.
