In a heartwarming gesture amid Nigeria’s tough economic reality, the Banu Yakubun Bauchi Development Forum, has brought smiles to the faces of its members by distributing Sallah gifts across its seven clans.
Backed by a generous donation of N1 million from the chairman of Bauchi local government, Mahmoud Babamaji, who is also a son of the family, the forum distributed cash gifts to 182 beneficiaries, with each receiving N5,000.
The Forum led by Dr. Mukhtar Abubakar Usman, a former Bauchi State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, ensured that the financial aid reached the elderly, vulnerable men, and women within the family.
He said the act of compassion and community support was met with prayers and gratitude from the beneficiaries, who lauded Mahmud Babamaji for remembering his roots and praised the officials for their dedication and transparency.
Similarly, the Forum rolled out the drums to honour a towering figure in the Bauchi Emirate, Shehu Adamu Jumba, who recently marked 50 years as the Ɗan Lawan of Bauchi and District Head of Galambi.
Turbaned by the late emir of Bauchi, Adamu Jumba, Alh. Shehu Adamu is one of the emirate’s longest-serving traditional title holders. During the event, the forum presented him with a special gift in recognition of his enduring leadership and service.
In his remarks, the elder statesman expressed deep appreciation for the honour and reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Forum, saying, “I will always stand by this family whenever the need arises.”
He said the twin events reflected unity and care within the Banu Yakubun family and served as a reminder of the enduring value of tradition, community, and generosity.
