Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has described transportation as the life-blood of every economy globally.

The governor stated this yesterday at the launch of Rano Air’s Bauchi-Abuja and Abuja-Bauchi scheduled flight service held at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi.

The governor said it is also the belief of every sophisticated society that every ride on a public transport is a right step towards a sustainable economy.

Governor Bala attributed this achievement in the transport sector to his administration’s unwavering commitment to making air transportation an integral part of its policy of ensuring seamless and safe movement of people, goods and services for the socioeconomic development of the state.

“Air transportation is a crucial artery for growth of industry and commerce, exchange of ideas and culture. Our government has invested heavily in road networks, but we recognise that air travel is equally essential,” he said.

Represented by his deputy, Rt Hon Auwal Jatau, the governor expressed gratitude to the Rano Airline for agreeing to partner with the state government to make Bauchi one of its destinations.

He assured the airline that the state government would strictly adhere to the terms and conditions of the memorandum of understanding entered into.

The managing director of Rano Airline, Alh Lawan Sabo said that the airline now operates within eight states of the federation, including Bauchi, providing reliable flight services to passengers.

Alh Lawan explained that Rano Air remains committed in providing competitive air services for Bauchi residents and expressed gratitude for the support the state government is giving to them.

He expressed confidence that the partnership between the airline and the Bauchi State government would foster economic development and promote social interaction in the state and beyond.
