Bauchi Gov Nominates 40 LGA Caretaker Chairmen

Bauchi State governor Bala Mohammed has nominated 40 local government caretaker chairmen and deputy chairmen.

A statement issued yesterday by the spokesperson to the Bauchi State House of Assembly speaker, Mallam Abdul Ahmad Burra, said the letter of the nomination was sent to the legislature by the governor where he requested the screening and confirmation of the nominees.

Presenting the message as addressed to the speaker, Hon Abubakar Y Suleiman, during yesterday’s plenary, the majority leader of the House, Hon Tijjani Muhammad Aliyu said that the request follows the expiration of the tenure of the elected local government chairmen and their deputies.

He gave the nominees as Bala Ibrahim Pali while Muhammad Idris Bappa is his deputy from Alkaleri; Bauchi local government, Baba Musa and Bala Mato his deputy; (Bogoro) Markus Bitrus as chairman while Emmanuel Barnabas is deputy; Dambam LGA, Muhammad Sabo Joji, chairman, Ilya Isah Dagauda deputy; Darazo, Zakari Inuwa Labaran Samaila Shehu as chairman and deputy respectively.

Others are Ado Maigoro as chairman Dass local government while Yusuf Wakili is deputy; Gamawa, Nasiru Bakura (chairman), Salisu Dahiru (deputy); Ganjuwa, Muhammad Idris (chairman), Ibrahim Shehu Baba (deputy); Giade LGA, Abubakar Nawaila (chairman), Abdullahi Idris (deputy); Itas/Gadau, Abubakar Bello (chairman), Yakubu Sadiku (deputy); Jamaare, Inuwa Moisha (chairman), Saleh Muhammad (deputy); Katagum, Umaru Hassan (chairman), Abdulhamid Datti (deputy).

Also nominated are Kirfi local government, Muhammad Tukur Adamu as chairman while Muhammad Bashar is deputy; Misau, Salisu Hussaini (chairman), Sallau Garba Tela (deputy); Ningi, Ibrahim Zubairu Mato (chairman), Muhammad Lawan Gudduba (deputy); Shira, Babangida Muhammad (chairman), Adamu Usman (deputy); Tafawa Balewa, Samaila Wakili (chairman), Salisu Adamu (deputy); Toro, Danlami Garba Abubakar (chairman), Auwal Abba; Warji, Ibrahim Ismail (chairman), Muhammad Sani (deputy). Zaki local government, Abdullahi T Musa (chairman) and Mamuda Aminu (deputy).

The screening and confirmation of the nominees is slated for 20th December, 2022.
