Bauchi Governor Seeks Legislative Collaboration

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has tasked members of the State House of Assembly to join the state executive for the development of the state.

He urged them to ensure that they create and champion sustainable development strategies that could better the future of their constituents.

The governor recalled that his administration has been faithful in the implementation of “My Bauchi Project,” a strategic vision earlier developed to guide the government which had also guided the development of the Bauchi State Medium Term Development Plan 2021-2025.

Governor Mohammed who spoke while presenting the state 2025 budget proposal to the legislature in Bauchi said that the development plan provided the roadmap towards meeting the numerous demands of the citizenry as well as the electioneering promises made to the people.

The governor had presented a budget proposal of N465.085 billion for the 2025 fiscal year comprising a capital expenditure of N282.3 billion and recurrent of N182.7 billion to the assembly.

He said, “We have over the last five years made significant progress towards the provision of basic social services and improving the quality and stock of infrastructure that had affected the lives and welfare of the people. Several other major reforms have also been undertaken along the various sectors of the public service”.

Mohammed explained that as the PDP administration in the state moves forward into the 2025 fiscal year, it has set before it a clear course of defining its priorities, drawing up relevant policies and programs and setting up plans to achieve the goals.
