The Bauchi State government has introduced a new discount policy aimed at boosting tourism activities across the state as part of its 2026 plans.
Under the initiative, civil servants will enjoy a 30 percent discount on tourism services, while other residents will receive a 15 percent discount when visiting tourism sites within the state.
The managing director of the Bauchi State Tourism Development Corporation, Muhammad Nasir Yusuf, disclosed this to journalists in Bauchi yesterday.
He said the arrangement is designed to encourage greater participation by the residents and civil servants in tourism activities and to benefit from the state’s rich cultural heritage and tourism assets.
Yusuf revealed that traders’ associations across the state will also benefit from special packages when hosting their annual events at designated tourism sites.
He called on hotel owners in the state to register with the Tourism Development Corporation, noting that doing so would ensure their smooth operations, enhance security and protect the sector from the activities of unlicensed operators.
The managing director commended Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State for his support of the sector, particularly through the renovation and modernisation of tourism and cultural facilities, describing the efforts as critical to the sector’s growth and sustainability.
