The Chairman of Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Adamu Duguri, has called for higher quality delivery in the 2022 and 2023 intervention projects execution in the state.

Duguri who made the call while speaking at the 2022 and 2023 UBEC/SUBEB Intervention Projects bids opening ceremony on Monday in Bauchi, said the occasion marked another milestone in the implementation of the intervention projects in the state.

He explained that the projects are joint ventures between the Bauchi State Government and the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), with each contributing 50 per cent of the total funds.

He explained that N1,208,469,375 was allocated for 2022 and N1,405,000,000 for 2023 intervention years, respectively, totalling N2,613,405,375.00 for the state.

Alh. Duguri gave the breakdown of the projects as constructions, renovations, construction of VIP toilets, drilling of hand pumps fitted boreholes, ECCDE furniture, primary schools furniture, JSS students and teachers’ furniture.

He appreciated the commitment of Governor Bala Mohammed to accessing the intervention funds since his assumption of office, as well as the commitment of other development partners such as UNICEF, Learn to Read and TaRL, among others, for their unflinching support in the development of Basic Education in the state.

In his welcome address, the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics of the board, Adamu Abdullahi, expressed gratitude for the impressive turnout of bidders, which, he noted, clearly showed their zeal and commitmentton providing timely and quality work that can stand the test of time.
