The Bauchi State Executive Council has approved the relocation of Wunti Market and Kasuwan Gwari traders to the Ibrahim Bako area, at the outskirts of Bauchi metropolis, in a move aimed at restoring order, easing congestion and stimulating commercial growth within the metropolis.
Commissioner for Cooperatives and SMEs Development, Mohammed Sadeeq Hamisu Shira, disclosed this

while addressing journalists shortly after the council meeting at the Government House, Bauchi.
He said the relocation was necessary to improve the business environment and ensure safer trading conditions for thousands of traders currently operating in overcrowded spaces.

He also disclosed that the Council ratified the construction of a modern trailer park in Azare, to be executed through a private-sector partnership designed to boost commerce, enhance transportation efficiency, and reduce road obstruction caused by indiscriminate parking of heavy-duty trucks.

In another development, the commissioner for Information and Communication, Usman Shehu, announced that the Council approved the renovation and upgrade of the Professor Iya Abubakar Resource Centre, which will be equipped with modern internet facilities to promote digital literacy, research, and innovation across the state.
