The Bauchi State Government has announced its commitment to sponsoring the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) registration fees for over 1,000 indigenous students.
The special assistant to Governor Bala Mohammed on Student Matters, Comrade Hamza Muhammad Maikidi, made this known while speaking to our reporter in Bauchi yesterday.
Comrade Maikidi emphasised that the beneficiaries of the initiative would be selected based on merit, regardless of any differences, ensuring that deserving students receive support.
According to him, the initiative aims to assist children from less privileged backgrounds by covering their JAMB registration fees, thereby enabling them to pursue their academic aspirations without financial constraints.
He further stated that the government’s intervention is designed to encourage youth education and contribute to the overall development of the state by empowering students with the opportunity to further their studies.
Comrade Maikidi reaffirmed Governor Bala Mohammed’s commitment to supporting the educational sector, adding that similar initiatives would continue to uplift students and improve literacy rates in the state.
