The event marked the beginning of Immunisation Plus and Malaria Progress by Accelerating Coverage and Transforming services (IMPACT) project to be implemented by the primary healthcare board.
Commissioner for Health, Dr Sani Dambam, said the upgrade of the facilities was part of the government’s commitment toward improving the healthcare system of the state.

Dr Dambam revealed that the IMPACT is a world bank project, warning the contractors against executing substandard projects, which according to him, the government will not condone.

Briefing the gathering on the revitalisation of 124 PHCs through the IMPACT project, the programme manager of IMPACT project, Dr Adamu Muhammad, congratulated the successful bidders for winning the contract, assuring that the contract would start immediately.

Dr Muhammad therefore called on the contractors to work hand-in-hand with the local government areas for the success of the project, charging them to ensure the completion of the project within the stipulated time of five to six months.
