Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Alhaji Jalal Ahmad Arabi, has described Bauchi’s Modern Sultan Saad Abubakar Hajj Camp, constructed by the state government led by Governor Bala Mohammed, as unbeatable among other camps across the country.
Arabi spoke when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar Modern Hajji Transit Camp in Bauchi weekend to see for himself the nature of the edifice.
He acknowledged Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad’s contribution to the well-being of intending pilgrims and described it as one of the best in the country.
On the 2024 Hajj exercise, the NAHCON boss also called on state pilgrims welfare boards whose pilgrims have yet to be flown to Saudi Arabia for this year’s pilgrimage to ensure speedy transport to the designated airports for their journey to the Holy Land.
The chief executive officer of NAHCON, who made the plea, said, “We wish the states that are remaining now will bring out their pilgrims in time so that there is no waiting time for the aircraft on the tarmac waiting for the pilgrims to come.”
Arabi noted that Governor Bala Abdulkadir is a patriotic human being and prayed to Almighty Allah to reward him abundantly for building a befitting Hajj pilgrims transit camp for the state.
“I am not surprised to say that this is what I call an elder brother. I know his capacity, I know his capability, but most importantly, I know his patriotism. I know how he takes things, just as he respects other beliefs, but seeing this edifice confirms what I have for him, so I don’t take anything less from him than near perfection”, he said.
Arabi also congratulated the Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for timely and successful airlift of all its 2024 intending pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia within a very short period without any hitches.
The executive secretary of Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, earlier expressed his happiness about the visit, saying it is an honour to Bauchi State.
Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris attributed the secret behind the successful airlift of Bauchi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to early preparation and securing visa on time.
