Bauchi State Government is set to unveil three landmark programmes aimed at advancing digital transformation and strengthening cybersecurity.
The initiatives are the Cybernations Programme, Digital Literacy and Skills Framework and a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) for data protection training and awareness.
According to a statement by the governor’s media aide, Mukhtar Gidado, the launch will take place on August 12 at the Government House Conference Hall, Bauchi, marking a significant milestone in the state’s digital development agenda.
“Driven by the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy (BICTDE) under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, these initiatives reflect the government’s commitment to equipping citizens with the tools and knowledge for a secure, inclusive digital future,” Gidado stated.
He added that the Cybernations Programme, developed in collaboration with Protexxa, a Canadian cybersecurity company, would provide specialised training to enhance local capacity in cyber safety and resilience.
Similarly, the launch of the Digital Literacy and Skills Framework and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the NDPC highlight Bauchi State’s proactive steps towards digital empowerment and robust data protection.
