Bauchi Urges Action Against Child Abuse

Bauchi State government has appealed to parents, individuals and other levels of government to recognise the rights of girls and children against all forms of abuse and exploitation, including abduction.

The state commissioner for women affairs, child development and social welfare, Hon. Zainab Baban-Takko, appreciated the administration for domesticating and assenting to the Child Protection Law in the state, while ensuring that the rights of the Nigerian child are respected and protected.

Hon. Zainab Baban-Takko on the occasion of commemoration of the 2024 International Day of the Girl-Child yesterday organised by Plan International’s Aspire Project, assured that her ministry would continue to support the welfare of vulnerable children in the state.

She also assured that the ministry in close relationship with relevant stakeholders in government circles and other partners would amplify children’s voices.
