MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the winner of the 2024 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija 9) reality TV show will receive a grand prize of N100 million.
Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, Busola Tejumola, made the revelation at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday.
Tejumola added that Season 9 will premiere on Sunday, July 28, at 7pm WAT and that the show will be broadcast live across all Africa Magic channels.
LEADERSHIP reports that this year’s grand prize is N20 million less than the N120 million awarded in the 2023 edition or Season 8 of the reality TV show.
“After 71 days of game playing, on the 6th of October, 2024, a grand total of N100 million worth of cash and a brand new SUV will be won,” she stated.
Recall that Kogi State-born Ilebaye Odiniya claimed the N120 million grand prize in the Season 8 edition of the show, tagged ‘All-Stars’ edition.
“With new twists and unknown housemates ready to become your new faves, this season promises to be one for the books,” the organisers announced.
“Expect shocking twists, explosive drama, and alliances that will keep you guessing,” she added.
LEADERSHIP recalls that auditions for the ninth season of BBNaija commenced on March 27 and concluded on May 4.
The organisers have promised a season filled with “double drama, relationships, and huge competition”, as participants will be in pairs.
