Executive Producer, of upcoming film Issakaba Returns, Winnerman Utomi, has stated his preference for working behind the scenes, as he believes that is where the magic happens.
The serial entrepreneur turned filmmaker said “behind the camera is where our ideas and visions are brought to reality. There is nothing as beautiful and chaotic as life behind the camera.”
Before delving into a business career, that traversed car dealership, electronics import and the agro industry, Utomi’s love for the arts manifested early in his life. He performed drama while in school, and a teenage multi-instrumentalist.
Issakaba Returns is his first dive into filmmaking, and he is collaborating with one of his mentors, veteran Nollywood filmmaker, Launcelot Imaseun to produce the film.
“Imaseun and (actor) Sam Derek are my biggest mentors. I draw inspiration from people who have mastered their crafts. Tyler Perry also inspires me. He is a complete artist and he understands the business of filmmaking.”
Describing Issakaba Returns as featuring intense drama, heart racing action and suspense guaranteed to keep viewers glued to their seats.
“The cast delivers standout performances, each character bringing depth and complexity to the story. Prepare yourself for breathless twists and turns along with moments of pure cinematic magic.”
Stressing the need to tell real African stories to the world through film, Utomi urged, “there is a need for us to share with the world our authentic and unique stories, our people, rich, diverse culture and traditions. Every African is a walking ‘story’. That birthed L.I.A.M Studios which means Life Is A Movie,” concluded Utomi.
