The member representing Bende North constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Nnamdi Ibekwe, has said the constituency had become a fast-growing investors’ haven.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP Weekend in Umuahia yesterday after interacting with some rice farmers from the constituency, he urged entrepreneurs to buy into the opportunity.

He said, “The constituency is rapidly emerging as a magnet for investors and a beacon of hope for development across multiple sectors of the economy.”

He said their coming together to form a common front was both inspiring and promising as it would go a long way to ensure a new dawn for rice farming and other aspects of agriculture development.

The legislator noted that such fronts would amplify the efforts of the government to boost the agriculture sector and lauded them for joining forces in serving as change agents within their localities.

Ibekwe also encouraged residents of the state to invest in agriculture, agro-allied value chain or small and medium scale enterprises to boost the economy of the state.

During the interaction, some of the farmers including Onyekachi Samuel and John Uke lauded Governor Alex Otti and Ibekwe for their exploits in developing the state and the constituency.

They also expressed the readiness of the members in embracing modern farming techniques to increase their income in all aspects of rice production and to build their capacities.

Contributing, Ezeogo Igwo Ogwo and Orji Eze said by pooling their resources together and coordinating large scale farming their target of cultivating 500 hectares of rice farm will be meet.
