Executive chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Dr. Grace Adagba has said the board would continue to work with religious, community leaders and all stakeholders to expand access to quality basic education across the state.
Adagba made the pledge when she led members of the board’s management team to felicitate with the chief imam of Benue State, Dr. Suleiman Habib, in Makurdi.
A statement from the board said Adagba commended the Islamic cleric for his continued support in promoting the enrollment of out-of-school children through collaboration with the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Office.
Welcoming the delegation, the chief imam, Dr. Suleiman Habib, endorsed the vision of SUBEB and donated smart boards to support teaching and learning in public schools.
Habib commended the leadership of Governor Hyacinth Alia, saying the state had recorded notable progress under his administration. He also praised the SUBEB boss for her efforts in strengthening the education sector.
The chief imam said the Islamic community in the state would continue to support initiatives aimed at increasing school enrollment and improving learning outcomes.
Habib expressed readiness of the Islamic community in advancing SUBEB’s goal of strengthening basic education in the state.
