The Tor Tiv and chairman of the Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers has condemned the continuous unprovoked gruesome killings of innocent Benue citizens and asked the federal government to match its words with action by ensuring that the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

The monarch who lamented the recent “heartless and dehumanising and carefully planned attacks” where the internally displaced persons were not spared in their camps, described it as a deadly blow that must be resisted to stop the planned to take over the people’s ancestral lands.

The monarch made the condemnation when members of the Middle Belt Forum led by its President Dr Pogu Bitrus paid him a condolence visit in his palace in Gboko.

In a statement issued by the special assistant to the paramount ruler of the Tiv Nation on media /ICT Freddie Adamgbe, the monarch appreciated the forum for its concern which he described as a major consolation that lessened the despair of Benue people and could strengthen them.
