A Benue socio-cultural group known as Kwande United People Organization (KWUPO) has called on the federal government to immortalise former minister of Mines and Steel, late Wantaregh Paul Unongu with skill acquisition centre.

The natives made the appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari. They urged him to fulfill its promise to covert the proposed Federal Polytechnic Adikpo, in Kwande local government area of Benue state into a mega skill acquisition centre in honour of the late pan Nigerian, Unongu, who died at 87 recently.

The leader of the Kwupo in Abuja,  Samuel Agah who made the appeal in a statement made available to newsmen yesterday in Abuja stated that the bill for the defunct Federal Polytechnic had been passed and was awaiting assent by the President, noting that as preparations for the smooth take off of the polytechnic, a good number of structures were erected, equipment such as computers, furniture and many others were procured and installed.
