The Benue State Epidemiologist, Dr. Msuega Asema, has disclosed that from March 2024 to date, the State has recorded 20 suspected cases of Monkeypox.
Dr Asema disclosed this in a telephone conversation with our correspondent and informed us that four of the 20 suspected cases were confirmed positive.
He said, “Out of the four confirmed cases, three have been treated and discharged.” He added that the State has only one active case of Monkeypox.
He said, “The four confirmed cases are from Makurdi and Gwer West, while the suspected cases are from five local governments, including Ushongo, Katsina-Ala, Gboko, Makurdi, and Gwer West.
