This is even as the governor offered a year’s tax rebate to investors willing to invest in the state, advising those intending to cause insecurity to steer clear, especially now that there is relative peace.
“I am urging all youths to be calm because the government has a series of programmes that will take youths off the streets, adding that conversation for new jobs is on top gear to begin new employment by the second week of January, so there will be no room for criminality,” the governor said.
Alia who disclosed this during the distribution of 56 trucks of assorted food items sent into the state by President Bola Tinubu to caution against the effect of subsidy removal on Benue people explained that the items are going to be distributed across the 276 council wards of the State to enable citizens to enjoy Christmas and new year celebration.

He disclosed that the palliatives being distributed cut across all inhabitants of the State irrespective of party affiliation, “Palliatives have no restrictions, we are distributing it to everybody including Civil servants, teachers, trade unions, traditional rulers, Okada riders, Keke Napep drivers’ with disabilities across the 23 local government areas.
Earlier, the executive secretary of SEMA, James Iorpuu who commended the president and the governor for their empathy for the less privileged said all the palliatives entrusted in his care will be protected and shared with the desired groups.
