The Beta Nigeria Campaign, a national education campaign advocating for solutions to teacher shortages, out-of-school children, and improved education spending, successfully hosted a Capacity-Building Workshop for Media Influencers in Kaduna State on February 17th and 18th, 2025, at Bafra International Hotel.
The two-day training equipped journalists, social media influencers, and education advocates with the skills to use media as a tool for change, amplifying critical education issues and holding policymakers accountable.
Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in discussions on education policy, systemic challenges, and the role of media in driving advocacy. Experts from Civil Society Action Coalition on Education For All (CSACEFA) and Beta Nigeria led sessions on education accountability, storytelling for impact, and leveraging media for effective policy engagement.
Attendees also participated in hands-on content creation, developing powerful advocacy videos that highlight the urgent need for increased investment in teacher recruitment, training, and better education policies.
A key highlight was the presentation of video advocacy content, where participants showcased their storytelling skills, aligning their messages with national and international education advocacy moments.
The workshop reinforced the media’s role in shaping public discourse, urging journalists and influencers to use their platforms to demand urgent action from policymakers on education reforms.
