‘Betrayal Will Be Your Portion’, Wike Curses Fubara’s Suppporters

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched a fierce rebuke apparently targeting his estranged political godson, Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his supporters, declaring that such individuals would face divine punishment through repeated acts of treachery and even sudden death.

Wike, who spoke on Saturday during the commissioning of the Rivers State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors headquarters in Port Harcourt, spared no words as he called out unnamed Senators, Ministers, governors, allegedly supporting acts of disloyalty.

“Let me tell you one thing, today is the 7th of February, whoever is watching, whether you are a senator, House of Reps member, minister or governor, and you support betrayals, people will continue to betray you in life. Betrayal is your portion,” Wike said.

The former Rivers State governor went further to invoke a grim fate on those he described as traitors, warning that their end would come swiftly and without mercy.

“You sit down and support those who betray, betrayal is your portion and the day you will be betrayed, you will not have mouth to say anything, there you will collapse. You will reap the seed that you planted, you will reap it, whatever you sow you will reap it.”

Emphasising a sense of karmic justice, Wike added: “That is the seed you have planted, and whatever you plant, you will reap. Since you are planting betrayal, betrayal will follow you everywhere.”

Wike also directed his warning specifically at governors serving second terms who, according to him, were plotting to install their preferred successors while supporting betrayal elsewhere.

“Every governor who is doing the second tenure, governor who has ambition to put a successor and is supporting betrayal, you will never survive it,” Wike added.

“Betrayal will follow you, the day your successor comes in, my own took some months, your own will start immediately, this is what the gods of the land have told me to tell you people,” he declared

His remarks came amid escalating political tensions in Rivers State, where Wike has been locked in a feud with his successor, Governor Fubara. The rift, marked by accusations of disloyalty and power struggles, deeply polarised the state’s political landscape and strained alliances within the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While Wike did not mention names, the context of his statements strongly aligned with his ongoing battle against perceived betrayal within his political circle.

The event, organised by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, a group supporting President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its Renewed Hope Agenda also served as a rallying platform for Wike to consolidate support among his loyalists and reassert his political influence.

His comments have since triggered heated debates on social media.
