Bianca Ojukwu, the widow of the late Igbo leader Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, shared a deeply emotional tribute on social media to celebrate what would have been his 93rd birthday.
In a heartfelt post, Bianca, who currently serves as Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressed the enduring pain of his absence, stating that not a day goes by without her and their children missing him.
She described the profound emptiness left behind since his passing and shared her yearning to see his smile again, hear his voice, hold his hand, and celebrate another birthday by his side.
‘’Happy Heavenly Birthday, My Dearest. Not a day goes by that we don’t miss you. Today, especially, I feel the emptiness of your absence and wish I could see your smile, hear your voice, hold your hand, and celebrate another birthday by your side.
The children are now grown but still hold on to the love, memories, and beautiful moments we all shared. These remain strong anchors in trying times.
“I hope heaven is celebrating you as beautifully as I would have here on earth. Until we meet again, Dearest, continue to rest peacefully. You are loved, missed, and remembered today and always.’’
Bianca and the late Igbo warlord were married for 17 years before he passed away on November 26, 2011.
