Former Adamawa State gubernatorial candidate and prominent political figure, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed (Binani), has hosted Mrs. Gill Lever, OBE, the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, at her residence for a high-level meeting focused on gender inclusion and democratic development.

Binani expressed her appreciation for the visit, describing it as an honour to welcome the British envoy. “It was my pleasure to receive Gill Lever, OBE (Mrs), the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, at my residence this afternoon,” she said.

The meeting centred on shared concerns and progressive strategies to enhance gender representation in Nigerian national politics. According to Binani, the dialogue was „very fruitful,“ addressing key issues of mutual interest between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

“We held a very fruitful discussion on several important issues of common interest that would promote gender inclusion in national politics, deepen the well-being of our people, and promote democracy,” Binani noted.

The visit underscores ongoing diplomatic efforts to strengthen collaboration between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, particularly supporting inclusive governance, women’s political participation, and democratic growth.
