As relative peace thrives in Southern Kaduna communities, residents have been reminded of the need for unity, regardless of tribe, religion or ethnicity, to ensure progress of the region.

The Anglican Bishop of Kano Diocese, Bishop Zakka Nyam, gave the piece of advice yesterday as the guest speaker at the 23rd edition of the Southern Kaduna Prayer Summit held in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

The summit, organised by the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association (SKCLA), brought together sons and daughters of Southern Kaduna from around the world.

Speaking on the event’s theme, “Come, Let Us Reason Together,” taken from Isaiah 1:18, Bishop Nyam emphasised the importance of unity and sacrifice for the prosperity of the land.

He prophesied a brighter future for the region and urged the people to pray for their leaders to govern with fairness and equity.

In a message delivered by the deputy speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Barr. Magaji Henry Danjuma, Kaduna State governor,  Uba Sani, commended the organisers for their prayers and assured the people of his administration’s commitment to fairness and justice in the allocation of state resources and projects.

The governor also appealed for sustained peace in the area for improved socio-economic development.

In a remark, the chairman of the Southern Kaduna Christian Leaders Association, Apostle Dr. Emmanuel Nuhu Kure, appreciated Governor Uba Sani for recognising Southern Kaduna after years of neglect during the administration of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

He also lauded President Bola Tinubu for prioritising security and appointing a son of the land as Chief of Defence Staff.

Apostle Kure announced that the 24th edition of the prayer summit would hold on January 24, 2026 and called on everyone to support its success.

The 23rd summit took a unique turn as traditional rulers led special prayers to cleanse the land of affliction and curses, marking a new spiritual chapter for the region.
