The 2022 edition of SBI Media Workshop, an annual event focused on training young Nigerian media entrepreneurs, is expected to see the presentations from up to five speakers from leading tech firms across the blockchain and tech ecosystem.

In a statement by Rotimi Bankole, founder of the workshop and CEO of SBI Media, the facilitators include thought leaders such as Opeyemi Awoyemi, cofounder, Fast Forward Venture Studio, job listing site Jobberman, and native Nigerian webhost company Whogohost.
The Workshop, the third since it was launched in 2020 by SBI Media, a Nigerian multinational media planning and buying agency, is scheduled to be held at the Radisson Hotel Ikeja, Lagos, on December 3. The theme for this year, said the organisers is “Media in the Blockchain Era”.

Others are Fisayo Fosudo, tech media entrepreneur; Nsikan Benjamin, senior executive at Binance West Africa; Tolulope Aderemi, partner at Lagos law firm, Perchstone & Graeys; Emmanuel Ebanehita, top executive at Binance Africa; Chris Ani, CEO, Digital Abundance Holdings Limited; and Ugochukwu Obi, also a partner at Perchstone & Graeys.
Speaking on choice of facilitators, Bankole explained that his team aimed for depth of knowledge and experience. “We want the training to be meaningful for our participants who are looking to build successful careers in this media industry. The selection process was rigorous and I am pleased with our headliners this year, as they reflect the very best minds in tech business and the blockchain. Besides, they have demonstrated considerable capacity to mentor and inspire the next generation,” said Bankole.

Participants at the event, Bankole noted, will be able to sign up for in-depth sessions with these blockchain experts and dive into topics such as blockchain fundamentals, blockchain as a veritable platform for African creators in media and entertainment, prospective business opportunities in the blockchain, legal ramifications, and case studies featuring African success stories.
