The chairman of the Bauchi State Universal Basic Education Board (BASUBEB), Alhaji Abubakar Isa Baba, has called for stronger collaboration with journalists to enhance the development of basic education in the state.

Speaking during a meeting with media practitioners, Isa Baba stressed the need to sensitise parents and guardians on the importance of enrolling their children in school, ensuring their retention, and supporting them to complete their education.

He reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Bala Mohammed’s administration to improving the education sector, particularly at the basic level, while commending journalists for their vital role as watchdogs of society.

The SUBEB chairman also pledged to continue working closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure that students acquire quality education alongside sound moral values.

In his response, Alhaji Salisu Bala Haliru, who spoke on behalf of the journalists, assured the board of continued professionalism, pledging accurate, balanced and objective reporting in the discharge of their duties.
