Veteran Nollywood actor Bob-Manuel Udokwu has spoken out after false reports about his death circulated online, describing the experience as disturbing and deeply frustrating.
Speaking during an appearance on the With Chude podcast on Monday, the actor revealed that his children were the first to spot the viral claim and alerted him before the story gained wider traction. According to Udokwu, the rumour was accompanied by a manipulated image that placed his face on another person’s body lying on a hospital bed.
He explained that the photo was created using old pictures of him, which were digitally altered and shared alongside a fabricated announcement claiming he had passed away. The actor said the incident highlighted the dangers of misinformation and the speed at which false narratives can spread on social media.
Despite his anger over the situation, Udokwu disclosed that his children advised him against pursuing legal action or tracking down those responsible, urging him instead to ignore the false report and move forward.
