The chairman of Bogoro local government area in Bauchi State, Hon. Yakubu Lawi Sumi, has donated 13 brand-new Bajaj motorcycles to the 13 councillors across the council to enhance their outreach and engagement with constituents at the grassroots level.
The donation was revealed during a courtesy visit by a delegation of councilors led by their leader, Hon. Gwandah Simon, who visited the chairman in his office yesterday to express their appreciation.
Chairman Lawi Sumi thanked the councilors for their visit and emphasised that the gesture was a show of gratitude for their continued support of his administration’s efforts to empower the people of Bogoro.
He urged them to sustain the momentum of collaboration and unity for the progress of the local government.
He further appealed for their prayers for continued wisdom, strength, and knowledge to lead effectively, while advising them to always prioritise unity and the collective interest of Bogoro residents to accelerate development.
Speaking on behalf of the councilors, Hon. Gwandah Simon, who represents Bogoro C Ward, expressed appreciation for the motorcycles, stating that the gesture would greatly ease their mobility and enhance their performance in serving the people.
He assured the chairman that the councilors would responsibly use the motorcycles to promote development in the area. With this support, the councilors have no excuse not to perform, as the tools to reach the people are now available.
He reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Chairman Lawi Sumi and the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in advancing the state’s development.
